Confirmation:

“Do not be afraid to go and to bring Christ into every area of life, to the fringes of society, even to those who seem farthest away, most indifferent.” ~Pope Francis, 2013, July 28, World Youth Day Mass

ST. JAMES CONFIRMATION IS A TWO YEAR PROGRAM beginning with a full year of participation in an 7th grade Catholic formation program. The Archdiocese of Chicago stipulates, “Ongoing formation and preparation for the sacrament of Confirmation is recommended to be two years minimally” (Preparation Process Guidelines Adult and Adolescent Confirmation, p.20, OCYM).

R.C.I.A. (Adults):

The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (R.C.I.A.) is a process—people on a journey of faith. It is through the R.C.I.A. process that adults come into the Church. It’s open to individuals whom are merely inquiring about the Catholic Church, as well as those who have already decided to become Catholic. Some participants come from other Christian traditions. Several each year have never been baptized, and a few are individuals who were Baptized Catholic, but never received religious education or any of the other sacraments.

Each year the process begins the first of September, and culminates at the Easter Vigil, in the reception of the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.
