Congratulations on your engagement and upcoming Nuptials. We are thrilled you have chosen St. James Church to celebrate your marriage.The preparation of your marriage and wedding happens simultaneously. Marriage for Christians is a sacramental celebration – a sign of God’s love and fidelity for us. The liturgy of your wedding day is a ritual filled with music, symbols, family, friends and the rich tradition of our catholic faith. Everyone loves the beauty and splendor of a wedding, St. James loves the religious significance it contains. The coming months will be hectic and exciting. We are happy to assist you in planning this very special day and sacrament.

Catholic Couples Check Up:

This program enables engaged couples to answer a series of relationship questions, to help better understand their strengths and weaknesses, before their wedding date. The engaged couple has the ability to take the survey, in the comfort and privacy of their own home. They will receive the results, and review them together, as well as with their presider and a trained facilitator couple, from the parish. The priest/deacon working with the couple, will explain the entire Survey process at the first marriage preparation meeting.

Pre-Cana:

The “Pre-Cana” program is for engaged couples, planning to be married in the Catholic Church. A day-long encounter is created, which will enable the couple to have an opportunity to discuss honestly one another’s strengths and weaknesses, including family living, communication, finances, Christian sexuality, the Sacrament of Matrimony, and their role in the Church and society. Please contact the Priest or Deacon assisting with your marriage preparation and they will give you the details and answer any questions you may have.
